Hi Lori

Untangling ALBAUGHs is unfortunately what we all must do to determine our own lines. Yours is not too far removed from mine, so I will help.

First, look here:
http://www.albaugh.info/noahh.htm

It is a good starting point. Unfortunately, some of the genealogy that was published in the 1800's was ... well ... wrong! :-)

David's father was obviously not born in 1758. The problem is that there are several men with the name Zachariah ALBAUGH. Watch out!

Zachariah #2 (#2 is a reference code which was arbitrarily assigned to him by previous researchers) was Rev. David's father.

Zach #1 emigrated to America in 1734. He is Zach #2's father. Zach #2 would have been born sometime in the latter 1730's. His estate was probated in Frederick County, Maryland in 1782.

Before Zach #1 is Anthonius (aka Thonges aka Thunes) AHLBACH.

Before Anthonius is Hans Theis AHLBACH. And there the records end.

Hope this is helpful.

S.B. Hodson
