I had an ancestor named John Wilhelm Albaugh (1728-1788) who originally came to America with his sons and settled in NewJersey, but later moved to Frederick County Maryland (<1750). I wonder if he is the Wilhelm you are looking for. His sons were Zacharias, John Wilhelm, John Peter, and John Gerhardt. I suspect they dropped the "John". He was married twice, to Elizabeth Gerhard and to Eva.
