CHICKASAW ALBERSON'S
ISAAC ALBERSON - Chickasaw chiefearly references to him were made in Chickasaw tribal records in the 1780's. He was al;so called UHOMAHMAH, and was chief of one of the four districts in Mississippi from 1815 - 1837. He explored the west in 1828, signed the 1830, 1832, and 1834 treaties.B He was appointed to the Chickasaw Commission in 1834 and served until it was disbanded in July 1845. He moved west in November 1837. He was listed as being half white, head of a household that consisted of 3 males under 18, 1 male over 18, 3 females under 16, and 1 female over 16. He owned 27 slaves. He was married at least twice, his first wife was the mother of his sons LOGAN and ISAAC JR., and his second wife was SALLY OXBERRY.
