Update on Albertino Research

Just wanted to let interested Albertino researchers know my updated email address. Further, from a Civil War Confederate Pension application at the TN State Archives, another researcher found that Daniel had listed his birthplace as Sardinia, Italy. In the 1840s Sardinia encompassed a large section of northwestern Italy. So, now we know which part of Italy he was from. Further, based upon his Civil War records and a demographic search of Italian surnames, I have come to believe his surname was originally Albertini. Over half of his Civil War records listed his name as Albertini. As for the demographic search, I found NO Albertinos in northwestern Italy, but a great number of Albertinis. The name Albertino does occur in Spain, but not northwestern Italy. If you're doing Albertino or Albertini research, please post a reply. I'd love to hear from you!
