Albright/Albrecht DNA project
Howdy all. There is a fledgling yDNA Albright surname project on worldfamilies.netthat I am encouraging folks to take a look at. yDNA traces the y chromosome passed from father to son to grandson etc. It can be used to answer a wide variety of genetic, genealogical questions about the nature of whether or/and how all us Albright's(Allbrites, Albrecht's..and so on)relate to each other. While yDNA traces only the paternal lineages, MtDNA traces the maternal lines, mother to daughter etc. These tests have a cost, but ultimately the results can be part of a much larger human ancestry project. For more information, I can suggest searching on genetic genealogy in Wikipedia, or google the National Geographic human genetics project. These latter two sources provide an understandable explanation of what may be achieveable through DNA testing. The more participants we can get in this project, the greater the ulimate level of understanding can become. Eric Albright, Grand Canyon, Arizona
