Hello Cindy-

I thank you for the info posted. I was born in the USA. My dad came from Havana, Cuba. I am intrigued by my Heritage and knowing how far back the name goes. I found an interesting website where you can learn more about the alcantara name and see how they formed in Leon,Spain. Also, October 19 is the feast day for St. Peter of Alcantara. Good luck learning about this great Alcantara name. I also learned that there is a ranch in the Dominican Republic called Rancho Alcantara.
