It is just one of a collection. These matrixes or molds
were used to manufacture livery buttons for the servants
of the House of Alcantara. The Counts of Alcantara were
most distinguished, wealthy castle-owners. The buttons on
the gala-uniforms of their servants showed the Alcantara
coat of arms.
