Hello, My name is Alberto Victor Aldrete IV. I live in Sacramento CA. My Great Grandfather Don Alberto Aldrete was from Spain and immigrated to Mexico in about 1910. My cousin Sabastian Levy, is a historian and has done some extensive research on our family. He has found that the origin of our family name comes from the Basque. The Basque are in Spain, so Al C. Aldrete is correct that the name Aldrete comes from the country of Spain, but it is derived from a people who don't consider themselves Spaniards.
