Dear Constance:

Just about anyone with the surname "Stebenne" is a descendant of one Joseph Stebbins (later called "Stebenne") a captive in the ill fated "Deerfield Massacre" (29 February 1703/4 - Deerfield, Massachusetts). Joseph was a younger brother of my ancestor, Thankful Stebbins (later called Thérèse Louise Stebenne. The only male "Stebenne", was her brother, Joseph, so your Lois must be a descendant of his. E-mail me directly for more information.

Sincerely, Ron Bernier
