1895 Manayunk Sentinel article relates John Funk as being uncle of Mrs. Rodney Levering. Have checked both Levering and Alexander books and can't find the connection. John Funk is my g-g-grandfather and a brickwall. I know he b. 8/6/1817 and d 2/24/1895. Married Christiann ? b. abt 1819 d. 6/2/1889. He was wheelwright with shop on Ridge Ave. above Wissahickon Dr. Both buried Leverington Cem. along with some children. Have birth dates of all 13 children - some married names (Henry - Beswick - Wright - dill) and some death dates. 1880 census list John's father and mother being born in PA. No further clues. Can anyone zero in on John's parents and those of his wife, Christiann? And how is he uncle to Mrs. Levering? any leads would be most appreciated.
