C, 6th Arkansas Cavalry, at Washington, Arkansas, May 15, 1862; elected first lieutenant, May 15, 1862; promoted captain, July 28, 1862; horse killed in action at Dutch Mills, Arkansas, November 13, 1862; present, April 30, 1863; present, June 30, 1863; present, February 29, 1864; wounded and captured at Pilot Knob, Missouri, September 27, 1864; confined at U.S. Military Prison, Alton, Illinois, until released on oath of allegiance on June 15, 1865; born in Arkansas, c1837; died in Arkansas, January 8, 1910; filed Arkansas pension application #5 from Howard county, August 5, 1904; widow Laura Ida Alexander applied for pension, August 9, 1911.
