I have found several posting on the internet saying that James Alexander (1722-1803) was the son of Archibald Alexander born 1708 in Cuningham Manor, Co., Donegal, Ireland.
And although Archibald did have a son named James this James born 1722 in Virginia & died 1803, is not Archibald's son.
Does anyone know who the father of James Alexander (1722-1803) was? He was married to Elizabeth ??? and they had...

Elizabeth b 1758 married William Rucker
William b 1759 Frannie Rucker
Lucy b 1760 married Oliver Crewford
Mildred b 1762 married Galen White
James children and his widow moved to Elbert Co, Georgia
