I am looking for any information about Georgia Lenora Alexandria or Alexander? She was my Great-Grandmother. She was born in Savannah Georgia in 1875 and married Forest Lee Garner of Augusta, GA. Their son, James Rufus Garner was my grandfather and his daughter, Exie Jean Garner (married 1. Carl A. Lowe 2. Dillard L. Barley, my father)is my mother.
We have been told that Grandma Garner (Georgia Lenora) was the daughter of a lady (do not know her name)from Savannah, Ga., who married a Sea Captain from Greece. Georgia's mother died from the yellow fever outbreak in Savannah when she was small and she was taken in by another family and raised by them. The story goes, her father went to sea and when he returned, his wife had died and his daughter gone, he went back to Greece, never to see his child, Georgia Lenora.
We do not know if her last name was Alexandria or Alexander and if this was the family's name who took her in and raised her or if this was her father's family name.
