Alexander family tree...Manaca, PA, Chicago, IL...Italy
Posted by: Lynn Alexander (ID *****6020) Date: March 10, 2008 at 19:45:28

One of the true surnames of my family is D'Allessandro. I had a great Uncle Chick who I believe spent time in both the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania as well as Chicago. He and great Uncle Sam were brothers of my paternal grandfather, Leo Alexander. Uncle Sam, I believe, spent most of his time in Chicago. I was told that my great grandfather changed the family name from D'Allessandro to Alexander when he emmigrated to the US. My grandfather, Leo, married my grandmother, a Pennsylvania woman named Mildred Padula, and my father, Leo Jr, was born in 1938. Uncle Sam wrote a very in depth family tree many years ago. I used to have a copy of it, but it was tragically lost. I know there were several copies made for various family members and I am desperately seeking anyone who may be able to help me re-obtain that invaluable piece of family history.
