Anyway, as for what you need: THOMAS CLARK ALEXANDER, named after his maternal grandfather, was born 1789 in Little Valley, PA. He was a farmer; founded ‘fruit-land farm,’ which was later owned by James H. Alexander (see Section III under this, the children of John and Margaret Alexander). Thomas C. Alexander died, January 3, 1858, two years after removing to OH. Md., 1st, MARY GLASS, about the year 1813 and had, as issue: 1. Matilda Jane Alexander, b. Mar. 24, 1814 PA; d. Mar. 10, 1869; md. ‘Captain’ John Cox, (b. 1820 PA; d.??; painter) about the year 1844. John Cox md. a second time, to Eliza _____ (b.~1824 MD), no issue. Issue by Matilda: a. Mary M. Cox, b. Mar. 19, 1845; d. Sep. 3, 1846 b. Emma M. Cox, b. Mar. 19, 1847; d. Aug. 23, 1849 c. Thomas Clark Alexander Cox, b. Jun. 12, 1850; d. ??; school teacher living as a single with his father and step-mother in 1880 in Milroy, Mifflin County, PA. d. Joseph B. Cox, b. Jan. 10, 1853; d. Nov. 4, 1854 e. John Parker Cox, b. Nov. 2, 1855; d. Jan. 28, 1860 2. Margaret Clark Alexander, b. Aug. 1, 1816, suffered from rickets and d. Feb. 18, 1855, nm. THOMAS CLARK ALEXANDER md., 2nd, NANCY BEATTY, daughter of John Beatty, in 1820/1. Mrs. N.B. Alexander: d., Nov. 12, 1862, Adams County, OH. Nancy’s brother James md. Mary Alexander, daughter of John and Margaret (See Section VII). Issue of Thomas and Nancy Beatty: 3. John William Alexander, b. Jan. 21, 1822, Little Valley, PA. J.W. Alexander md., 1st, Rebecca M. Bell, the daughter of Johnson Bell on Nov. 6, 1849. He farmed at his father’s ‘mountain farm.’ Issue: a. Ira Clark Alexander, b. Jun. 20, 1850; d. Dec. 12, 1857 b. William John Alexander, b. Aug. 27, 1851; d. Dec. 21. 1851 In 1854 John W. Alexander removed to Adams County, OH and md., 1st, ?? ??; 2nd, Martha Ann Marmon. Issue: c. Robert Clark Alexander, b. Jun. 25, 1865 OH; d.??; md. Fredrica R. _____ (b. ~1868, Germany), ~1901; res.: Knight, WI. and Wayne, Adams County, OH; Fredrica spoke German, as did the children, as the families first language, 1920 US Census; Issue: i. Margaret Alexander, b. 1902 OH; d. prior to 1910 ii. Freddie L. Alexander, b. 1903 OH iii. Robert W. Alexander, b. ~1909 OH Note: A third child, Bessie Alexander, b. 1894, was living with the Alexander’s in WI and later in OH, likely a step-daughter or other relative of Fredrica’s. 1910 Census 4. James Beatty Alexander, b. Jan. 20, 1823 PA; known by his middle name; veteran of the Mexican War (“fought with General Scott”); attended Tuscarora Academy; was a merchant in Reedsville, PA; removed to IA and md. Caroline Locke (b. ~1830; d. Mar. 7, 1910), daughter of E.E. Locke of East Kishocoquillas, PA, on May 12, 1853. The Alexander’s moved to OH (1857), Albany, NY (1865), and finally to Sprout Spring, Appomattox County, VA, where he engaged in farming. Issue of J. Beatty and Caroline Alexander: a. Emma Matilda Irwin Alexander, b. Feb. 22, 1854 PA b. Dudley Locke Alexander, b. Nov. 22, 1858 PA 5. Nancy Glass Alexander, b. Jun. 2, 1824; d.??; md.
