this is one of the names in my family, found in the 1860 census of New Braintree, MA (as a baby). The Allaire's (Alarie) moved from Vt. to MA in the mid 1800's (2 brothers and their multiple children)...the name was anglosized to Ellery (my maiden name). If you think this is your family, let me know.
