Joseph Allaire > U.S. 1837 = Elayer

My G-Grandfather was Joseph(3) Elayer and was born in Trois-Rivieres, Q in 1817. My G-G-Grandfather was Joseph(2) Allaire (m. Margaret Dumas) b. in 1790, possibly in Trois-Rivieres or QC. His father was also Joseph(1). I have been trying to make the connection between my line and the Allaire brothers that came to Quebec in 1658, assuming that Joseph(1) was born in Quebec. I would appreciate any help.
