Madeleine Fontaine's husband is Jean Allaire (brother of Etienne). There are three records in the PRDH where his name is incorrectly written as Etienne. Despite this, the majority of the records have Madeleine's husband as Jean.
There is a marriage contract between Jean Allaire of St-Joachim, son of Jean Allaire and Anne Mercier, and Marie-Madeleine Fontaine, daughter of Etienne Fontaine and Madeleine Fournier. The contract was prepared by notary Abel Michon on November 3, 1738 [PRDH 195612].
Jean was born about 1711 at St-Joachim. He died at age 40 (from record) on January 17, 1750 and was buried two days later at St-Francois-de-la-Riviere-Sud [PRDH 233518].
Jean's brother Etienne was married to Charlotte Lavoie, daughter of Francois-Xavier Lavoie and Marguerite Simard at Baie-St-Paul on November 6, 1747 [PRDH 110849]. Etienne's birth is unknown (there are no records from St-Joachim at the time of his birth), he was born some time between 1712 and 1730 at St-Joachim. He and Charlotte had one son (also named Etienne) three months before Etienne died December 14, 1748. He was buried the next day at St-Joachim [PRDH 145007].
The Etienne born March 5, 1712 and baptised two days later at St-Jean,I.O. is the son of Charles Allaire and Marie Bidet [PRDH 38468]. He married Genevieve Gagnon on January 3, 1739 at Chateau-Richer [PRDH 140130]. They had no children.
