My ggrandmother was Agnes Allaire, daughter of Andre/Andrew Allaire and Marie Dubois/Wood and granddaughter of Joseph Allaire and Sophie Goyette who were of Rouville county and Shefford county, Quebec. Andre and Marie came to Northampton, MA about 1866. Andre was born in March 1832, and he died in 1907 in Northampton, buried in St. Mary cemetery, Haydenville.

Joseph and Sophie had the following children:Norbert/Albert who married Mary Rosignol, Marie who married Pierre Gingras, Francois Xavier who perhaps died young, Cleophas who married Euphrosine Meunier, Joseph who married Rose Melancon, Louis who married Louis Gingras, Dennis who married Basilice Renaud and Euphrosie who perhaps died young. All of the children were married in either Ste. Anne de la Rochelle or St. Marie de Monnoir or St. Jean Baptiste, Quebec.

Albert and Mary Rossignol, and Andre and Marie had large families and lived in the Northampton, MA area. I do not know if the other children remained in Quebec or came to the US.

Andre and Marie had the following children:
Ovila who married Agnes Roger/s, Albert who married Ellen Toomey, Melvina, bc 1854, August bc 1856, Felix who married Lavinia Tessier, Agnes who married Frank Roger/s, Joseph who married Mary Brais of Springfield, MA, and Marie Mathilde who married as his second wife, her sister's widower, Frank Roger/s ca 1898 in Northampton.

Unfortunately, this group is not well represented in Violette Allaire's book. Would like to hear from anyone descended from these folks to exchange information.
