I don't know if we can help each other, but my family is also not part of Violette's. My family came down to New Braintree, MA in the 1850's. The 1865 census has the following: Joseph b.1826 married to Almira LaPLante b.1826 had these children: Wilfred b.1850,Joseph b.1851,Alexander b.1855, Almira b.1857, John b. 1859, Augustus (my gr.grandfather b.1860, and Orvelia b.1863. He came down to Massachusetts with his brother's family: John b.1821 m. to Mercy b.1831 with these children: Flora, Emma, John, Maria, Mary, Dianna, and Francis.
