Hi, I am trying to place my Thomas Allday who died in Bertie Co., N. C. in 1754 with the Va. family of John Allday, Sr. and Elizabeth Perrin. John and Elizabeth had son John Jr. about 1695 in Henrico Co., Va. They also had daughter Sarah b. abt. 1698 and son Perrin b. abt 1700. When John died, Elizabeth married Seth Hatcher about 1715. When trying to follow this family, I found them in Bertie Co., N. C. selling land. Bertie Co., Deed bk C p. 96 "Seth Hatcher and wife Elizabeth to Thomas Mason Feb. 11, 1728/29. 15lbs. for 300 A. on SS Morrattock River and WS Little Run. wit. John Rottenbery, Leah Hatcher. May court 1729." This may have been on their way to Orangeburg, S. C. where Elizabeth died. Is it possible that there was a younger son, Thomas Allday, who would have been about 10 when his mother married Seth Hatcher and possibly went to N. C. with them. I also found Seth Hatcher mentioned in reference to municipal officer or magistrate in Chowan Co., N. C. earlier than the Bertie deed, but can't find the exact notation at this time.
Anyone who has information which might help or suggestions as to where I might locate the info. please respond.
