Allegood, Legarde, Legare

Mr. Faircloth I am Lawton Allegood of Moultrie, Georgia. I did a bit of searching on the LeGarde name and found that in the same areas the Allgoods moved to there was a family of Legare's. I realize they could be
just another French family but I am still puzzled by the lack of a death certificate, marriage records or an up date on Elias' land leases in the Virginia area where he lived and operated his vineyard. I feel that possibly these people are his children. His documented family that we know as our ancestors changed the Legarde name to Elligood. Possibly because he never married the lady he had the children with and the children may not have had anything else to do with him. He may have moved on down to North or South Carolina. I would like to exlplain my idea to you when I can take my time and tell you some facts about these Legare's I have found. Meanwhile I will check the Legare name and see if it is indeed a French family that came over during Elias' time. Please contact me.
