this information about the possibility of a Portugal connection is indeed fascinating. I too have the book by Barden Alligood called The Children of Thomas Alligood, and it has been a source of information. It is also interesting about the possibility of Elias LeGard being a vintnor. I had always heard he had something to do with the silk worm industry or something. All research on my Alligood ancestors is always welcome!!
