I have been researching the Alligoods, Allegoods, Ellegoods, Elligoods for over 40 years. The above is variations of the same surname that can trace their origin back to Northampton County, Virginia, in the late 1600s. Your branch is descendants of two brothers who left Virginia in the early 1700s, settled first in eastern North Carolina and then later moved on to central Georgia. Some of the Georgia family later moved into Florida and Alabama and points west. Don't have a lot of info on the Georgia group but will share what I have. Have contacts with a few of the Georgia group who have a great deal more on that branch than I. Branches of the family are now in most States, Canada and other points of the world.
Regards, Gil Alligood
