Harriet Barker's unpublished booklet, "EASTMAN LINEAGE" , June 1956 says this about the ALLIS family:

"History of Hadley (JUDD) page 447.
William Allis, freeman May 13 1640, Braintree, removed about 1661 to
Hatfield. Died Sept. 6 1678.
Married (1) Mary _____ who died Aug. 10 1677. Children first

John born March 5 1642.
John son of William, carpenter in Hatfield
mar. Dec. 14 1669 Mary dau. of Thomas Meekins, died Jan. 1691. Children

"History of Deerfield Mass"
Vol 2 page 25, 26

1 William, Lieut. one of the first settlers of Hatfield, 1661, died Sept.
6, 1678. He married 1st.
Mary ______ who died Aug. 10, 1677.

Second Child

John, son of William, born 1642, millwright and carpenter; contracted to
build our first corn mill at Mill River 1690. He died Jan. 1691 before it
was finished. He married Dec. 1669 Mary, daughter of Thomas Meekins, widow
of Nath'l Clark of Northhampton

3 Elizabeth born April 4 1679, married July 13 1704 James Bridgeman, who was
one of the rescuing party coming here from below February 29 1704.

"Pioneers of Mass."
page 16

William wife Mary died Aug. 10 1677
In the tattered 2' x 2 1/2' pedigree chart that came with the booklet, I do
not see her Barker connection to Allis but is definitely traceable from my great-gransfather, David Eastman (1844-1918).
