A GOOD MOVEMENT
An effort to be made to have bodies removed from U.P. and Presbyterian Cemeteries:
At the suggestion of the Borough Council, the Boards of trustees of the United Presbyterian and Presbyterian Churches met jointly and passed a resolution requesting persons who have deceased relatives and friends buried in the United Presbyterian and Presbyterian Church Yards to remove them to some of the cemeteries or other burial grounds. The dilapidated, neglected condition of the graves and the grounds is anything but creditable to the town or the friends of those whose remains lie in these church years [sic].Persons who will remove the remains of friends are earnestly requested to notify some members of the board of trustees of one of these churches within the next 30 days.Should the friends of any persons whose remains lie in the churchyards neglect or refuse to remove them, an application will be made to have them removed by due course of law.
G.W. Simpson, President, United Presbyterian Board of Trustees
W.A. St. Clair, President, Presbyterian Board of Trustees
