An update to my previous message:
Ellen's parents appear to be William and Susanna (Nichodemus) Alspaugh. Listed in the 1850 census, Henry Co., IN are the following individuals:

William, M35, born OH, Blacksmith
(1860 census has his age as 48)

Susanna, F24, born OH
(The above age gives you a birthdate of 1826. The 1860 census has her age as 41, which is closer to being correct. She married William in 1836 and had Ellen in 1837)

Ellen, F14, born IN
(according to her headstone her birthdate was 10/06/1837, 1860 census confirms this.)

Henry, M10, born IN

Amanda E., F8, born IN

Sarah, F1, born IN

Note: Living in the same township and practically next door is Samuel Alspaw, same age as William, also born in OH. Neighboring township, Jacob P./B. Alspaw, age in 1860 census is 52, also born in OH.

BLM Records, Henry Co., IN:
A Zachariah Alspaugh, from Montgomery Co., OH, purchased several lots of land with signature dates in the 1820's.
Jacob Alspaugh, from Henry Co., IN purchased land close by, signature date in the 1830's.
