DeWitt Clinton Allspaugh, 1850 Shelby IN

My Adelia Elizabeth Roerty married DeWitt Clinton Allspaugh according to a newspaper clipping I found from a Shelby Co., IN newspaper. This was in late 1850's. I believe he may have been a civil war casualty as she was living with her mother and an aunt in the 1870 census of Shelby Co., IN and she had a new husband Joseph Vinton Shipp and a four year old son. I would like to find out who DeWitt Clinton Allspaugh was and his parents names and any proof of his death. He is not listed in any Civil War Rosters from Indiana, that I have seen so far. There is a DeWitt Clinton Allspaugh living in Garrard Co., KY in the 1860 census and that is where Adelia Elizabeth's parents were from but in 1835. Could this be the same person?
