I have Edgar Martin Almas b. 18 Dec 1895 Wells Twp, Tuscola, s/o Samuel Henry Almas & Mary Minnie Sheffield.

He calls himself a natural child on 1917 Draft Card WWI, this birth date places him before parents marriege. 1910 census -age 14 yrs with parents.

5 Jun 1917 - WWI Draft Registration gives b. date 18 Dec 1895, Brakeman on Ann Arbor Railroad. Resided 629 Algeson, Owoosa, Michigan. Has a wife and child (this record means he had a previous marriage before Edith.

1920 census - Easton, Ionia, Michigan State Correctional Institute 24 yrs, a widower, Inmate.

1930 census - shows up twice with Edith as his wife. 1st Apr 2 1930 at Bridge St Norley, Mecosta, Mich, & 2nd Apr 23 1930 at Rapid River Twp, Kalkasha, Michigan. Both times show son Charles Edgar 1927.

1st marriage 28 Jan 1914 in Lansing, Michigan, to Hazel Smith d/o Alfred Smith & Jessie Butler. They had a daughter Leona Almas b. c 1915 Lansing, Michigan NFI.

Then Charles Edgar Almas 7 Feb 1927 Morley, Mecosta, Michigan. d. 10 Dec 1990 Deerfield, Michigan, Boyd Cemetery. Married ----- Thuston d/o Howard Thuston & Louise Wilson. and I assume them to be your parents.
