Have come to the conclusion that Gilbert did not exist. Believe he is misnamed on 1842 census. Should be Christian Frederick 17 Mar 1812 - 23 Jan 1896 s/o Adam Bowman Sr. Christian owned ,in 1939, a lot in L 7, Conc 1 Beverly. This is the same lot attributed to "Gilbert" on 1842 census with 8 people in the family. The lot is right across the road from Adam Bowman Sr, and the other stats on this census fits Christian to a T. Have found nothing else to prove "Gilbert's" existance.
