Yes, I was referring to Margaret
Almas (October 1809-May 20, 1900) who married Philip Welch Hendershot (Jan.
2, 1804 - July 25, 1885). I don't have the names you have. Who are they?
Is Jacob a brother to Margaret? Do you know anything about the parents of
Philip Welch Hendershot?

I have Margaret's parents as Henry Almas (1784-Jan. 28, 1830) and Mary
Margaret Hendershott (1783-June 30, 1872). My understanding is that Henry's
parents were Christian Almas (1752-Nov. 30, 1843) and Magdalina Baker
(?-March 2, 1838).

As for the obvious mystery that Margaret's mother's last name was once
Hendershot and Margaret married a Hendershot, my understanding is that Mary
Margaret was originally a Daniels, then married a Hendershot and then
married Henry Almas. I really don't know about the quality of the
information, however. It was sent to me in an e-mail.

Sincerely,
John Watson Sharp
