I am one of the grandchildren of Dr. Joseph Seymore Almas who was one of the decendants of Christian Almas, a Hessian who fought for King George in the Revolutionary War. We have a information that Christian was given a land grant in Canada after the war. Joseph's parents, David Almas and Maria Burns, we believe lived in Hagarsville, Ontario. They had eight children. When Maria died, David Almas married his sister-in-law and started another family. Joseph attended medical school in Canada and immigrated to Havre, Montana in abotu 1890 or 1900. He married Georgianna Taylor Sanderson in about 1910 and died about 1935. His younger brother, William Almas, was educated as a surgeon in Scotland.

Any information you have about Christian Almas and his decendants would be appreciated.

Ellen Johnson
