I am searching for the same information. Nathaniel's birthdate is (circa) 1731 in VA and many have his death around 1789/1790 in NC. He had 5 known sons with Alsey Cannady - of which 3 are known and proven to be Revolutionary patriots; Edward, Nathan (Jr.), and Thomas. Some say this Nathaniel (Sr.) may have come from Isle of Wight before moving to NC on a land grant. At this point, I consider it a clue but not a given because I haven't seen any proof - but I would love to find one way or the other ...
