I stumbled upon your message and thought it was curious that I'm also in California and my great grandfather is Israel Dodge Allphin. My great grandmother was Christiana Dollbell Riding Asay Allphin who appears to have been Israel's third wife. It's also curious that the spelling of the name is different among grandchildren. Just thought I'd say hi and let you know you're not alone in California.
