NOTE: (The ALPHIN name was recorded in the First U. S. Census, 1790, in North Carolina. Hezekiah seems to be the patriarch of the ALPHIN family in America. He married Fanny Howell February 20, 1787. Other ALPHIN given names who were early Americans were Jesse, Thomas, William, John and Joseph, who resided in North Carolina counties of Wayne, Gates, and Jones. It is not known at this time which of these persons was JOSIAH's father).
Josiah Alphin, born 1810 North Carolina married Elizabeth McDonald, Dec.15 1831 Randolph County, Ar.,I believe they were in Randolph Co., Ar. abt. 1830. Josiah and Elizabeth are my 3rd great grandparents. Elizabeth's parents are Isaac McDonald, b. abt 1785,Ga., and Mary Ivy,b. abt 1780, Ga. Isaac's Will;
It says: " MCDONALD, Isaac LA, Mary McDonald and Joseph Spikes, Feb. 1844; heirs; Mary, wife; heirs of Surrenah Russell; William McDonald; Jane Tyler; James McDonald, Jr.; Elizabeth Olyphant (Elizabeth Alphin); Mary Ann Biggers; and Julia Tyler.
Probate of deed of gift ( dated January 20, 1844, probated March 11, 1844 to Isaac J. Alphin and Isaac J. Tyler, minors."

Surrenah married Green Russell; Jane married John Tyler; Elizabeth married Josiah Alphin; William married Lavina Tyler; Mary Ann married Ambrose Biggers; Julia married Unknown Tyler.
Isaac Jackson Tyler was son of Julia Alphin Tyler.
