I am currently attempting to enlarge my Alspach/Alspaugh/Allspaw family information. I currently have info dating back to Johann Alspach born in Adelboden, Bern, Switzerland in 1622. He married Elisabetha (Alspach), unkn date and then Barbara (Alspach) on May 3, 1697. He died in Thalfroeschen, Pfalz, Bavaria on July 2, 1705s buried in Meisenbach. He had 2 sons, Theodor A. Alspach and Johann Henrich Alspach. The lineage goes on from there to a Mathias and Reinhardt Alspach emigrating to America Sep. 11, 1738. The family came to the U.S. thru the Netherlands and to Berks Co, PA; then moved south to NC and then west to KY/TN and then part of them continued further west with some of them turning and heading north to the Van Wert, OH area, northern IN and I believe into MI. Most of what I see posted on this bulletin board will fit in there somewhere!
I have a copy of the Solomon Alspach Family book from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 500 plus pages of info from a lady in northern IN and a small amount from Grace Wilkerson. At one time I had an email list of almost 70 persons who were researching the family, which I have since lost, but who shared with me many pedigree charts of the branch of the family which they knew at the time, along with many emails with tidbits of info.
On Oct 16 of this year, myself and two other persons are going to spend a day trying to get a good start on putting all of that together. We will be starting with a data base of over 4800 names, plus all of the info above.
If you would like us to try to put YOUR branch of the family in there someplace, please send a pedigree or whatever info you have to share, in whatever form you may have it. For those of you who have photographs, we would also appreciate those. I have hopes of eventually getting it all up on a website and we will certainly be happy to share with one and all. Please pass the word to others with whom you have contact.
You can send the info to me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org either in regular email form or you may send a gedcom, or you can fax it to my home computer at 1-801--650-2053. Or, if all else fails, mail it to Dave Allspaw, 818 S. Main Av., Sidney, Oh 45365.
