Hi Doug,
Just read your message and I believe I can help you with information on Mathias Alspach and Elisabeta Clauser. Elisabeta was the daughter of Philip Adam Clauser II of Berks County, PA.

Sometime between 1810 and 1815, Philip Adam Clauser II and his brother Georg Clauser (who was my great-great-great-great grandfather) and their families, including Philip Adam II's daughter Elisabeta and her husband Mathias Alspach, moved from Berks County, PA to Norwegian (now Branch) Township, Schuylkill County, PA. Until a church was established in their area (Frieden's Lutheran & Reformed Church, aka Clauser's Church), they attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran & Reformed Church, Friedensburg, Wayne Township, Schuylkill County, PA while living in Norwegian Township, Schuylkill County, PA.

Three of Mathias and Elisabeta's children represent the first three entries in Frieden's Lutheran & Reformed Church, aka Clauser's Church records; Rebecca, Joseph and Christina. (This same baptismal information is also listed in St. John's records.) In Clauser's church records, there are entries that include (as adults): Maria, Heinrich, Johannes, Jacob and an entry for Henry John.

In turn, I am interested in the research you may have that confirms the marriage of Mathias and Elisabeta, in particular the church and location. I have been searching for several years now for the maiden name of Georg Clauser's wife, Christina. Georg and Christina were sponsors for Mathias and Elisabeta's daughter Christina born 14 February, 1821 and baptized 15 April, 1821. In turn Mathias and Elisabeta were the sponsors for Georg and Christianna's daughter Christina, born (No Record) and baptized on 23 March, 1823. I'm hoping that a specific Berks County church name may be beneficial to me in researching Christina's maiden name and Georg and Christina's date of marriage..another piece of information I am lacking.
