My Grandmother insists that her mother was related to General George B. McClellan, of civil war fame. However my research shows her mother, Glenna Alspach, had relations to Crissie Ellen McClelland (spelling different than the General) and I can find no connection. Perhaps there is another General McClelland or perhaps the family tale is wrong, but she is certain there is a connection, Can anyone confirm or deny as both have roots near the same area of the country and same imigration origin.
