Thanks for the response. Susannah Morford, wife of George R. is a TITUS descendant(her great grandparents were James Morford b. NJ resided PA d. IL) and Martha Titus (born PA died IL) so I was hoping to tie my mystery Alway in NJ to his Titus wife via George but I guess not. (sigh)
I do have a little info on his daughter Phyla, gleaned from the California State Death Index. I'm sure there is more on the actual death certificate than on the index but here's what I do have FYI
Phyla Eltajane Alway b: 15 Jul 1901 in Co d: 02 Jul 1948 in Placer Co, CA marrid name Ogden. The index also confirmed her mother's maiden name.
I'll keep plugging away at it--I have found a couple of isolated ALWAY and ALAWAY listings from Canada to Passaic NJ (just found em last night) and have emailed those folks to see if I can connect them. Since Thomas Alway seems to have some Canadian connections, perhaps it will still work out.
At any rate, I hope the info on Phyla Alway Ogden is of some help to you.
