Mark, at best I would say that William Henry Amazeen and Henry Augustus Meloon were first (or possibly second) cousins. That William H's mother was Susan Meloon (born about 1803) and Henry A.'s father was Henry T Meloon(born abt. 1802) is known (both b. in New Castle), but as to which Meloon of the earlier generation, Benjamin or Abraham (Abram), can be claimed as their parent I haven't solved yet (but maybe someone else has??). It is convenient that Benjamin's wife was Susannah Amazeen and also that Henry T named his oldest son Benjamin, but could be entirely coincidental.
I have been researching the Amazeen name for about 10 years, and feel that the families of the female progeny deserve just as much attention as do the male bloodlines. My great-great grandmother was Louisa M. Meloon, wife of Nathaniel B Yeaton, both of whom have Amazeen ancestry.
