The Amazeen you refer to was indeed John Brown Amazeen. He was born on November 1, 1874 in, I believe, Waukegan, Illinois. Why Waukegan, Illinois I do not know since his parents, and John, lived mostly in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His parents were Henry Clay Amazeen and Sarah Helen (maiden name unknown – could it have been Brown?). Circa 1902, John Brown, an attorney, went to the Philippines to take a position on the Attorney General's Staff in Manila. He returned to the US on March 31, 1931 to the port of New York on the ship President Filmore. Whether he made interim visits to the US between 1902 and 1931 I do not know. Aurora Xerez Burgos’ birth date from the 1920 and 1930 US censuses is circa 1878. Her birth date given on an immigration form when crossing into the US from Canada on July 18, 1932 after returning from the Philippines is April 27, 1892. Do you know which is correct? John died in 1954 in Pinellas, Florida. Aurora died in Oct 1965, also in Pinellas, Florida. Did they live together in Florida? - I do not know. Aurora’s son Andrew was born in Japan (Yokahama I think) on 30 Nov 1907. Aurora appears to have married in 1906. The presumption is to John but I do not know for sure. What I also do not know is if she married Charles A. Mahy who did indeed adopt Andrew. I would guess she did not but, again, I am not sure. Any additional information on Aurora would be appreciated. Also, the death date I have for Andrew is 02 Mar 2002 in Maryland – is this correct?
