Orin A Ambrose was born in Illinois. Orrin A. Ambrose was born in Georgia. I see a lot of family trees with the Illinois Orin confused with the Georgia Orrin. Orin of Illinois was born April 7 1904 son of Charles E. Ambrose and Jessie Allen. He lived in western Illinois counties of Warren, Henderson and Hancock until his father died in 1922. Orin entered the Navy seems to have stayed for a number of years. His step-mother moved with his youngest brother to Twin Falls, Idaho to live near her brother-in-law William A. Ambrose. In the 1930 census she has remarried and has Orinís youngest brother with her. Williamís wife corresponded with a family back in Illinois. I have the letters.

Orin in 1930 is in the US census living near Pensacola Navy Base with his first wife Gladys. Their son Orin Andrew Ambrose JR is born in Pensacola. Orin is transferred to Norfolk Navy Base and Gladys dies in Virginia. Orin marries Rosa Williamson and is transferred to San Diego. Charles Frances is born in 1932 while Orin and Rosa are in San Diego. Mary Ann is born 1934 in Pensacola when Orin is transferred back to that base. They are then moved back to San Diego before going to Pearl Harbor in 1937. Dec 1840 they are moved back to the main land arriving in San Francisco.

After the Navy Orin and Rosa live in Georgia until they die in Toombs County, Georgia.

Orinís step-mother was Alice G (Huey) Ambrose Luttman she moved to Lemon Cove, CA and Orinís brother Charles Otto lived in Lemon Cove until he died in 1989
