In Reply to: Catherine Ambrose & James Griffin, early 1800's, near Newcastle West in Limerick by Deborah Sullivan of 1121

I am the great nephew of Bishop James A. Griffin
He was the brother of my grandfather John A. Griffin

The Bishops parents were Thomas J Griffin 1856, Catherine Woulfe 1854
The bishops grandparents: James Griffin ?, Ellen Ambrose 1834

James and Ellen had at least 10 children
Thomas and Catherine had 10 children

The only Catherine Ambrose that I can reference is Catherine Griffin 1821-1879 who married Michael Ambrose 1826-1872
I do have a note showing that James Griffin had a sister Catherine who married a Michael Ambrose of Ardagh

I don't have any info on a George Ambrose
