This may be a duplicate of a partial earlier message which flew off into cyberspace all by itself.
I have some unconfirmed information about Dorothy's ancestors. She was my seventh great grandmother. (Smith, Fogg, Flanders, Blaisdell, Colby, Ambrose) The information about her father and grandfather comes from Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury, p. 34, 35.The rest is from various Internet sources.
Dorothy was the daughter of Henry Ambrose (b. June 1649 in Salisbury, Essex, MA; d. after 1680)He was a weaver.
Married Susanna, widow of Timothy Worcester October 1672; he and wife admitted to Salisbury Church 16 Oct. 1715,Oath of Allegience and fidelity at Salisbury 1677
Susanna died after 1715 in Salisbury. They had two other children - Nathaniel who died in infancy and Nathaniel b. 26 Feb 1677.

Henry came from a line of Henrys.
His father Henry (b. June 1613 in Kersey, Suffolk, England; d. Bef 18 Nov 1658 in Salisbury)He was a house carpenter.
In Hampton 1640-49; freeman May 18, 1642; bought land in Salisbury 1649 and probably moved there; of Charlestown in 1653 and Boston 1654 when he sold land in Salisbury
Inventory of estate May 22, 1658; widow Susanna deposed in Boston Nov 19, 1658. She married John Severance before 1664. She died in Jul 1692.
In addition to Henry they had at least three other children--Ebenezer, Samuel and Abigail.
In England the Ambrose Family of Ambrose Hall were residents of Lowick and Woodplumpton in County Lancashire. [This is where I wonder about the connection. Why are later births in Kersey, Suffolk if the family was from Lancashire??] The most celebrated of the family was Issac Ambrose who graduated from Oxford in 1621. He was a minister in Garstrany and Preston.
Henry Ambrose, brother of Issac, was the first to come to America in 1632, landing at Massachuetts and settling in Salisbury. He married in 1639. He died in Boston in 1658.
