Soldiers involved in the 1775 siege or garrisoned there in 1777 would not have brought their children along.

The Fort was evacuated by Patriot forces in July, 1777, chased off by the British. It was not occupied except by British thereafter, to the end of the war.

Beware of 'family histories'. A lot of authors just made stuff up.

Genealogy without *documentation* is fiction.
