Bobby Moss is pretty much the authoritative expert on Patriot documentation.

If your man was on the other side, it is possible that he would be listed among the British records at the archives in Kew, among War Office papers.

If you know where Ephraim Cooper's family lived at the time, it is possible to look in County Court records. His widow may have applied to the County for relief while her husband was away and after his death.
