Thanks for your response. I have done much of what you suggested, without success, aside from going to the British Archives in Kew. Unfortunately, there is no possibility I will be going to Surry, England.
Nevertheless, you have provided food for thought and I hope someday to find some direct documentation of George Woodley’s service with the New Jersey Volunteers in the southern campaign.
I am most appreciative.
