You have to keep in mind that the topic title attracts folks with interest in the war, many of whom will not be much interested in the early Federal period of American history. Shipping around the eastern U. S. had been going on for more than 100 years, so length of time it took, at specific times of year, to travel between, say, Boston and the Upper Chesapeake, is not specific to the Revolutionary War period or close before or after. But there are some wonderful books out on the Adams', and if you look for what is based on transcripts of their actual writings, you could find your answers there.
