Carol, I read your original post. I asked you to say when he applied and where he was when he applied, since you declined to give the material information from his applicaton. Revolutionary War databases regarding service, pension applications and other pension-related data are not indexed by birth date. They are indexed by State and type of service (Militia, State Troops and Continental Regiments). Date of application can indicate whether there was service attributable to Continental service (even if in a State Battalion). When you asked **where** he was you did not say it was a NORTH CAROLINA regiment and that you wanted to know what County, cove or holler he lived in. What you supplied was the least helpful data. Your refusal to respond to my question was inexplicable, since it would have helped me to locate information that I did not know you already had. In short, your not supplying the key information sent those who would be helpful on a wild goose chase, for information you already had. For actual information on your man you will need land, tax and other local Court records in addition to whatever is held about the Regiment by the NC Archives. Whether you are willing to do the basic work is up to you. Jade Notify Administrator about this message?
