The applications for membership could have been submitted years ago but since then it has been found the child hasn't been proven correctly--he might not be the son of the Patriot or someone has proved he isn't. The DAR online is http://www.dar.org Perhaps they can provide more info about this. For my Patriot it was found in the 1930's that he had been submitted with wrong wife. Her father's will proved she was married to another man with same name. He is listed without a wife's name now.
